Over four years ago, a group of individuals from both the Horde and the Alliance came together for a simple purpose - a walk in the woods, with no fighting and no complications. From the first walks, a sort of gesture evolved, a defiant enjoyment of life's simpler pleasures in the face of animosity and anger. They became known as the Peace Walks, and members of both faction came to walk together, flagged for battle but dressed for friendship.
The Peace Walks are a part of our recent history, now, and the Homeland is proud to revive the tradition for an evening of quiet contemplation this Wednesday! We invite members of both the Horde and the Alliance to meet on the road directly east of Astranaar, the starting point of the first Walk ever. From there we will follow the original route, stopping for a light meal at the turning point before returning to Astranaar.
No weapons or armor are needed, but we do encourage attendees to bring anything that may spark a conversation or bring a smile to a face - trained pets, Darkmoon carnival rides, drinks, and of course the finest of clothes are just a few examples of things you might want to bring! The Homeland will attempt to engage the service of the AAMS translators, and we hope to see many members of the Alliance joining us for this celebration of a classic Horde pasttime!
We ask those opposed to gestures of peace and reconciliation to allow the Peace Walk to pass unhindered, and to instead attend next week's event, when the Homeland hosts a revival of the Grim Maw Clan-inspired Piece Walks! The Alliance will be invited to defend and retaliate at that event as well, so there should be plenty of bloodshed for all interested parties.
The Walk begins at 6:30 in the evening on the road just east of Astranaar!

((For those who never saw the original Peace Walks, this is a re-staging of a classic Cenarion Circle roleplaying event. Participants progress over a fairly short path at walking pace, PvP flagged but unarmed, talking with members of their own faction and communicating as best as possible with the opposing faction. Traditionally, it was an opportunity to enjoy the WoW scenery that so often goes unappreciated, to make friendships across the faction line, and to roleplay with new and familiar faces from your home faction. With luck, I may be able to talk a pair or two of AAMS characters into providing running translations between Horde and Alliance for us (not originally part of the events), but either way, we hope to see everyone out there for a reminiscence of Cenarion Circle's early days!
As mentioned in the in-character text, next week's event will be a very similarly-structured PvP event in the same area, so please wait until then to express your violent displeasure if your character is not of the Peace Walk persuasion!))
