Post subject: Raiders of Silithus-January 8th
PostPosted: Tue Jan 03, 2006 11:41 am
Greetings! After a hiatus for the holidays, we will return to Silithus this Sunday, January 8th, to resume smashing on the so-called "Lords" of the Twilight Council. Due to the time off, we have accrued sufficient materials to summon through all the stones twice, and will be doing so at Noon and 9:00 PM. If you are interested in joining us, please mail Granada in-game by Saturday at noon with your class and the session or sessions you'd like to attend. We will then get you put up on the roster here. Spaces are given on a first-come first-served basis, but those who make it in late as an alternate may well be called up!

Our goal is about 3 per class, excluding Shamans of whom we want 6--we feel this will give us the best chance against Skwol. Given the importance of healing in all fights, and the need for dispelling in the Whirlaxis fight, priests will be given priority next for the 3 remaining spaces, but alternates for all classes are desired so that we can quickly replace anyone who is unable to make it.

About points & loot
Please refer to the other thread in this forum for info about how points work, and thus how loot is given out. Remember, if you show up you have a chance to win goodies, even if it's your first time coming. If it's not your first time, the number of points you have is listed next to your name in the roster.

Your role in general
Shamans, Druids, Priests: Healing, period.
Mages, Warlocks, Rogues: DPS.
Hunters: DPS, pets for off-tanking.
Warriors: Who needs warriors? I mean... getting hit in the face.

What to bring
1. Nature Resist gear
2. Fire Resist gear (more important for melee classes)
3. Healers: +heal/+mp5 gear
Mages, Warlocks: +mp5 gear, light feathers for mages
Warriors: sword & board + one high dmg 2H weapon
4. Space in one of your bags--preferrably at least 10 slots. We have lots of potions and tasty food to hand out.
5. Bandages

Notes on specific fights
Baron Kazum - Earth
Control aggro, let the tank take the beating. Healers will go into an even/odd rotation: all healers in odd numbered groups will heal the MT while even groups regen mana, and a switch will be called.
High Marshall Whirlaxis - Air
Get ready to be thrown up into the air. Also, be ready for "Enveloping Winds" to stun everyone within 10 yds of him. At this point the OT will intercept while the MT is dispelled, following by the dispelling of the rogues and everyone else who was too close.
Prince Skalendrax - Fire
His AOE flame is fairly nasty, and will somewhat tax the healers. Be ready to step back and bandage if you get low on health.
Lord Skwol - Water
Where to begin... well, for one this is why you need nature resist gear. Our Shamans will be dropping poison cleansing totems after every AOE poison and you will be chugging poison-immunity potions (if we can get enough). If your Shaman goes down your group is dead, so you may want to consider bandaging them if you think you can time it right. Also, the tanks will be trying to make tauntless-aggro-switches when they get too many of the -1000 sunder armors on themselves. But, that's only the first 30 seconds of the fight--we haven't lasted longer than that yet.

Where...were you?!

*grumbles and walks off*

I never said I'd be there for the evening.
